Wind Chime (Detail) 2013

In my first year Hybrid Media studio course I made various installations and experimenting in sculptures of different kinds. One sculpture I made was a sound sculpture which was a wind chime combining many elements to create different sounds as I attached piezo vibration sensors to two parts of the sculpture. The sculpture was made from small metal industrial components such as screws and washers hanging freely above a metal bowl to create a singing bowl effect. Between the strings I made a cage using metal mesh and put two ball bearings inside to roll freely which created a unique sound. This sculpture was meant to represent the sounds of the city as it was made using construction materials and the sound was entirely conducted with these materials.

Drawing Machine (2013)

This project's goal was to create a drawing machine. My partner and I used non-traditional materials to do the drawing. We modified the motor to have arms with magnets on the ends to automate the drawing in the glitter. The magnets dragged small objects with magnets on the bottom across the top of the drawing. We attached LEDs to these arms to light the box and play on the shininess of the glitter. The window constructed into a box showcased the effect we had created.

This is a personal logo I created with steel using fabrication methods such as arc light torch and MIG welder, and a handheld steel grinder.

Future City (2013)

This city was imagined by four students and displayed at an exhibiton at an OCADU gallery. We envisioned a city like none before, combining technologies that would make the city self-sustainable.

Pokemon (2015)

These creatures were created by me using air-dry modelling clay. I made them to the likeness of JigglyPuff and a Slokath named Fuzzle.
